Supervisors continue budget talks with department heads

The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors continued their budget talks Thursday morning, meeting with department heads from the Building Department, Building & Grounds and Justice Court.
The Building Department, which has a current budget of $98,147, is requesting an increase of $25,800 to $123,948 for the 2017 fiscal year.
Building & Grounds requested an increase of more than $17,600, from $367,874 to $385,555.
Justice Court requested less expenditures in the next fiscal year due to a recent retirement and new hires. They requested a budget of $450,963, down $20,245 to $450,963.
The supervisors are meeting with the various department heads throughout the month before finalizing their fiscal budget in September.
