An incident near two Oxford schools prompted Oxford School District officials to take precautionary measures to protect students earlier today
Della Davidson Elementary School was put on lockdown and Oxford High School held students in place within the school building. School district leaders said the Oxford Police Department was pursuing suspects in the vicinity of the schools at the time that both schools were holding students.
“Thanks to the Oxford Police Department and our School Resources Officers (SROs), three suspects were caught and are now in custody,” said OSD Superintendent Brian Harvey. “At this time, both schools are no longer holding students in place. No students or staff were harmed during the incident.”
More will be posted when it is released by the Oxford Police Department.
