Catherine Boone has been named audience development and classified manager of The Oxford EAGLE.
For the past two years, Boone has been working in news, classifieds and circulation in Oxford, along with a company-wide role as a management trainee.
In her new role, she will lead the newspaper’s efforts in increasing readership, classified advertising and serving customers.
“Catherine is smart and has proven herself capable of handling many projects well for us,” said Publisher Tim Phillips. “She will do well in her new role, and we’re excited she’s earned the opportunity to lead these two important aspects of our business.”
Boone said she is eager to get involved in readership and circulation efforts in Oxford.
“I look forward to the opportunity to work to attain new customers and to serve existing customers of The EAGLE.” Boone said. “Our newspaper continues to improve and our readership is better than ever. Increased readership positions us to produce better results for classified customers. That is exciting and is a message I am eager to communicate to the business community.”
Boone is a 2014 graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis and has prior newspaper experience with The Natchez Democrat and The Shelby County Reporter in Alabama.
