Robert Sharp Forster

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Robert Sharp Forster, 70, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Heart Institute in Memphis, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford with the Rev. Ann Whitaker officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from noon until service time at the church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in San Salvador, El Salvador, he grew up in Guatemala City, Guatemala. At the age of 15 he moved to Berwick, Maine, to attend boarding school and thereafter built his life in the United States. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and a law degree from the University of Mississippi.
He was Chief Operations Officer of the Mississippi Small Business Development Center (MSBDC). For many years he served Pan-American Life Insurance Company in New Orleans, Louisiana, in varying capacities.
He traveled broadly throughout the course of his life and was delighted by new experiences.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Sharp Forster.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Millsaps Forster of Oxford; children, Elizabeth Lindsey Forster of Houston, Texas and Robert Sharp Forster, Jr. of Los Angeles, California; stepchildren, Katherine Wallace Dowdle of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Gray Wallace of Starkville; and two grandchildren.
