Staff report
Yoknapatawpha Arts Council is now in the running to bring a 10-week live music series to Oxford.
Sponsored by Levitt Pavilions, the national nonprofit behind the largest free concert series in America, Yoknapatawpha Arts Council hopes to qualify as one of the 15 winning organizations competing in the Levitt AMP Oxford Grant Awards.
Fifteen nonprofits, or municipalities partnering with a nonprofit, will receive up to $25,000 each in matching funds to produce their own Levitt AMP Music Series — an outdoor, free concert series featuring a diverse lineup of professional musicians.
Yoknapatawpha Arts Council submitted the proposal for Oxford and its new pavilion. Its proposal will be on the Levitt AMP website for public voting starting Monday at levittamp.org.
The Top 25 finalists will be selected through online public voting. Winners will be announced Jan. 5.
