Earl Rodrick Cauthen Jr.

ORANGE BEACH, ALA. — Earl Rodrick Cauthen Jr., 79, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at his home in Orange Beach, Alabama.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Vicksburg with burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. prior to service time. Riles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Drew, he graduated from Clarksdale High School and attended The University of Mississippi. He owned and operated Cauthen Oil Company in Clarksdale. After relocating to Orange Beach in 1989, he was active in the commercial real estate business and was affiliated with Herrington Realty.  He was awarded ERA National Commercial Salesperson of the Year. He was an avid golfer and had served as President of the MS Golf Association and Clarksdale Country Club. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially quail hunting. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed many lifelong friendships and cheering for Ole Miss.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Harriet Dukes Cauthen; sisters, Debbie Kershaw of Galveston, Texas, and Linda Beckner of Wichita Falls, Texas; brother, Bob Warren of Evansville, Indiana; son, Lee Cauthen of Oxford; and four grandchildren.
