Jonathan Scott

Another mouseketeer in Mickey’s army

Never been to Disney World and all of its attractions? Wonder why those that have get almost glassy-eyed when talking about their visit? News Editor Jonathan Scott moves from one group to the other after helping take a load of Girl Scouts to “the happiest place on Earth” and he writes about his conversion from skeptic to loyal mouseketeer. (June 9, 2011, Page 4)

Putting a price on peace

It’s not so difficult to understand some of the price increases and economic reports we see. But what about something more abstract? How do you determine, say, the cost of peace? Open communication: A prescription for success

The prognosis is mixed on Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp.’s effort to build a new hospital in Oxford because of a rough spot in negotiations with local government boards because of site options. Fundraising 101: Have an irresistible product

There’s no doubt about one thing the Girl Scouts have learned to do better than their Boy Scout counterparts – pick items to sell for fundraising projects. Free program offers a lifetime of benefits

It’s just a coincidence – News Editor Jonathan Scott isn’t into New Year’s resolutions – but Scott is planning to take part in a community program offered by Baptist Memorial Hospital titled “Healthy You, Healthy L.O.U.” It’s a plan to help members of the community to develop a healthy lifestyle, something Scott feels certain will be a reward well worth the effort. (January 5, 2011, Page 4)

Few signs of the future we were promised

Remember the cartoon series, “The Jetsons,” that told us about the “future” with robots and flying cars and such? Word that a company in Massachusetts is coming out with a flying car brought memories of those promises from “The Jetsons” back to News Editor Jonathan Scott who takes a look at some other things we once thought we might have by now. (September 17, 2010, Page 4A)
