Rodney Crowell set for Off Square Books tonight (Jan. 20)

OXFORD TOWN – Innate storyteller and country music legend Rodney Crowell is scheduled to visit Off Square Books tonight (Jan. 20) at 6 as he tours in support of his recently released memoir “Chinaberry Sidewalks.” Check out page 5 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town for Oxford Town Editor Jeff McVay’s coverage of his recent interview with Crowell where they discussed everything from Crowell’s “rough” childhood (that evolved into something good) to his classic, poetic storytelling through his music. Country Boy Rolling Stone Releases new album

OXFORD TOWN – That’s W.S. “Fluke Holland to the left. Holland was Johnny Cash’s  longtime drummer and one of the original Tennessee Three. He, along with several Oxford Musicians, recently recorded a new album with Country Boy Rolling Stone entitled “Honky Tonking Too Long.” The project, inspired by the late Jim Dickinson and formed by Grenada resident Bill Crowder, has ties and sounds reminiscent of  Cash. Lee Child to visit Off Square Books May 20

OXFORD TOWN – The No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Child is set to visit Oxford and Off Square Books on Thursday, May 20, at 5 p.m. Child is currently in the middle of a national book tour promoting the latest and 14th novel in his Reacher series entitled “61 Hours.” Page 5 of this week’s Oxford Town has a review of Child’s new book which will be released on Tuesday, May 18. (May 13, 2010, Page 5)
