Audience gives thumbs up to festival lineup

Ticket sales were slightly down for Friday’s paid Double Decker music but crowds were up on Saturday as crowd favorites such as Jimbo Mathus, Patterson Hood, Funky Meters and Mavis Staples took to the Caterpillar Main Stage. Local acts such as Young Buffalo and Rocket 88 also drew ample crowds to the Oxford American 20th Anniversary Stage. (April 30, 2012, Page 1, 10)

Snowfall highlights first quarter of 2011

Lots of projects – Olin Corp.’s Centerfire plant, the new Oxford High School and talks about the sale of the hospital – got rolling in the first quarter of 2011, but there was one ball that really got rolling as more than a foot of snow fell in two separate storms the first two months of the year. There’s a reason why you can never buy for Dad

When it comes to Christmas gift ideas, there are those who are easy to buy for – youngsters and women – because they’ll quickly offer suggestions and even a list.
