Hollis whiffs eight in Lafayette victory
After facing each other earlier in the week, the Lafayette Commodores and Senatobia Warriors hooked up for a rematch Friday night, this time at WV Brewer Field. The Commodores won Tuesday’s game 11-1, and while the offensive surge was not there on Friday, Lafayette defeated the Warriors for the second time in four days with a 6-1 victory.
Senatobia senior pitcher Davis Brown kept the Commodores’ offense in check through most of the game.
Lady Rebels blank Samford
After getting swept by Missouri last weekend, the Ole Miss softball team needed a bounce back game. They got one Wednesday night when they knocked off the Samford Lady Bulldogs 3-0.
OM rifle misses out on NCAAs, prepare for GARC Championships
The Ole Miss rifle team is coming off it’s second best scoring performance of the season when they competed in the NCAA qualifiers at Kentucky last weekend. The effort was not good enough as the Rebels failed to be one of the eight teams to earn a bid to Ohio State next month. Ole Miss finished in ninth for the second year in a row.
No. 10 LSU smacks around Lady Rebels
Returning from a season opening trip to Hawaii, the Ole Miss softball team hosted No. 10 LSU in a non-conference home opener Wednesday night. The Lady Rebels kept the game close early, but could not keep the powerful bats of LSU quiet forever. With the help of four home runs, the Lady Tigers defeated Ole Miss 9-1 in 6 innings.
Ole Miss fell to 2-5 overall with the loss that doesn’t count in the Southeastern Conference standings, while the Lady Tigers improved to 5-1.
OM Rifle prepares for season finale, NCAAs
Ole Miss Rifle is in the midst of a busy week. On ‘Super Sunday’ they edged No. 15 Navy in a closely contested match. They booked a make up match with Jacksonville State this weekend and are preparing for the NCAA qualifiers on Feb. 16th, which are held at Kentucky. (more…) (February 7, 2013, Page 10)

Ole Miss, Chadwick ready for ITA indoor
The Ole Miss men’s tennis team will begin their 2013 season this weekend at home when they host the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Kick-Off Weekend at the Gillom Sports Center.
