The Amazing Kreskin plays two shows at the Lyric Theater

Denver’s Chimney Choir blazes into town for multiple events

OXFORD TOWN – Former Oxonian and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Larkin left Taylor approximately two years ago but he’s back this weekend with a brand new project in tow. Larkin’s lastest effort is a three-piece “world music” outfit, Chimney Choir, and they’ll be playing all over the L-O-U community and Tupelo this weekend and next week. Oxford Fiber Arts Festival returns

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford’s second Fiber Arts Festival is set to re-launch this weekend at the Powerhouse touting activities fro the whole family. The event is hosted by Knit1 Oxford and the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. ‘One Night Stand’ returns to Ole Miss Motel

OXFORD TOWN – The concept of the fifth annual “One Night Stand” art exhibit is when 15 artists take over 12 rooms at the Ole Miss Motel, swapping out the standard motor-in landscapes for their own paintings and photographs and essentially becoming the curator of their own small gallery. Jimbo Mathus – At it again

OXFORD TOWN – Mississippi native Jimbo Mathus is bringing “catfish music” home after a successful East Coast tour this summer promoting his latest album, “Confederate Buddha.” Mathus and his band, The Tri-State Coalition, are set for Rooster’s Blues House tonight (Thursay, Aug. 11).
