Yocona International Folk Festival wraps up at Lyric Theater

OXFORD TOWN – The Yocona International Folk Festival (on the OT cover this week) returns to Oxford on Saturday, Aug. 13, with performances on the Lafayette County Courthouse lawn at 6:30 p.m. for music and singing and then later at the Lyric Theater for its final show.     Festival finale set Saturday

    Yocona International Folk Festival kicked off on Friday at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center and will hold a closing performance with the Croatian folk group, Klek, on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Lyric. Tickets will be $10. (August 8, 2011, Page 1)

      Mother, son share the importance of art together

        Story-telling teens to make debut at Folk Festival

        This Sunday, teens from the Barksdale Boys & Girls Club of North Mississippi in Oxford will get a chance to tell hundreds of people the story of a man who sold his soul to the devil to become the King of the Delta Blues during the annual Yocona International Folk Festival. (August 6, 2010, Page 3A)

          Yocona International Folk Festival returns to The Grove

          OXFORD TOWN – Youngsters and adults from across north Mississippi can get a taste of international culture, heritage, music and dance as the annual Yocona International Folk Festival completes its regional tour this Sunday with tons of events on the Ole Miss campus.             Free ECHO Cultural Program offered tonight on UM campus

            OXFORD TOWN – The free cultural program “Celebrate – Song, Dance and Story!,” sponsored by ECHO, is set for 7 tonight at Bishop Hall, Room 209 on the Ole Miss campus.  This year’s program features an amazing group of Choctaw dancers from the Choctaw Heritage program. (February 25, 2010, Page 11)
