Power, speed garner POY award for Lafayette’s Glass

There wasn’t much Kendall Glass couldn’t do for the Lafayette softball team and coach Katie Moore on the diamond in 2013.           Lady Trojans snap WV winning streak

          WATER VALLEY — Casey Clouse was at a loss for words Friday night as her Water Valley Lady Blue Devils had a three-game winning streak snapped by the Bruce Lady Trojans. Ineffective pitching and costly errors were at the root of Water Valley’s problems, as a 10-run sixth inning propelled Bruce to a 17-10 victory. (March 11, 2013, Page 3B)

              Four-run seventh keys WVHS win

              For six innings Monday night, the Oxford Lady Chargers led the Water Valley Lady Blue Devils 2-0 and seemed poised to win their first home game of the season.                 Lady Blue Devils poised for next step in ‘13

                Casey Clouse started her tenure as Water Valley softball coach last spring. Unfortunately for her and her Lady Blue Devils, an accident during spring break sidelined her from a number of games until late in the year when the team was making a push to the MHSAA Class 3A playoffs.                   Vance provides leadership, numbers for WVHS

                  WATER VALLEY — The clicking sound in Haley Vance’s ankle was loud enough for her to hear it. Her final basketball game as a Water Valley Lady Blue Devil resulted in a sprained ankle and while that didn’t make an impact for the girls basketball team, a bum ankle wasn’t a good thing for the softball team and first-year coach Casey Clouse.

                  Fortunately for Vance and the rest of her teammates, she was able to recover from the sprained ankle in time, and once she got her timing back at the plate, she was able deliver a great performance in her final year wearing blue and white. (June 7, 2012, Page 1B)

                    Mantachie tops Lady Blue Devils in softball

                    Water Valley’s stay in the MHSAA’s Class 3A softball playoffs came to an unfortunate end Saturday as the Mantachie Lady Mustangs won the decisive third game of the opening-round series 14-8 in Water Valley. (more…) (April 23, 2012, Page 3B)
