CHS Tigers no match for WVHS boys
The Water Valley Blue Devils basketball squad opened up the Valley Classic with a bang on Thursday, cruising to a 68-44 victory over Charleston at the WVHS gym, while the girls fell victim to too many turnovers in a 60-55 overtime loss to Charleston.
After mounting an early six-point lead after the first quarter, the Blue Devils’ offense never hit a lull and was able to extend its lead to as many as 36 early in the fourth quarter. (December 3, 2010, Page 9A)
WVHS hoops beats Coffeeville
Led by Eric Buckley’s 19-point effort, the Water Valley Blue Devils defeated Coffeeville 69-55 Tuesday night in the WVHS gym.

Oxford sweeps Water Valley
The Oxford Middle School girls and boys basketball teams earned four wins combined over Water Valley on Tuesday night. The seventh-grade girls beat Water Valley 36-12, while the eighth-graders won 31-12.

Water Valley sweeps Pope
Water Valley swept Pope Middle School on the hardwood on Monday, with the seventh-grade boys winning 17-9, the seventh-grade girls winning 13-11 and the eighth-grade boys claiming an 11-9 victory.
Keauana Sarrow and Tierra Turner led the seventh-grade girls with seven and six points respectively. In the seventh-grade boys game, Cooper Clements and Makedrius Gooch had team-highs with seven and five points respectively, while Skyler Defer led the eighth-grade squad with four points. Devils win first game
