Devils feeling good heading into playoffs
Water Valley heads into a third meeting with Charleston on Tuesday playing its best basketball of the season, coach John Sherman said. The Blue Devils improved to 11-13 on the year Friday with a 54-33 win over Nettleton in the Division 2-3A Tournament. The victory earned the Blue Devils the No. 3 seed out of the division and a trip to play Charleston, a team they have defeated twice this year.

Water Valley knocks off J.Z. George
The Blue Devils earned a narrow win over J.Z. George on the hardwood Tuesday night. Water Valley’s boys improved to 2-2 on the year with a 47-43 victory. Dee McNeal scored 15 points, while E.J. Bounds had 10 in the win. Water Valley’s junior varsity boys team lost 37-35 despite 12 points from L.J. Hawkins. Both varsity teams return to action Tuesday at Hickory Flat.
