      Blue Devils sweep Bruce to end season

      Water Valley ended its middle school basketball season on a high note Monday night with two wins over Bruce.           Water Valley knocks off J.Z. George

          The Blue Devils earned a narrow win over J.Z. George on the hardwood Tuesday night. Water Valley’s boys improved to 2-2 on the year with a 47-43 victory. Dee McNeal scored 15 points, while E.J. Bounds had 10 in the win. Water Valley’s junior varsity boys team lost 37-35 despite 12 points from L.J. Hawkins.             Water Valley weathers wild finish

            WATER VALLEY — John Sherman saw a little bit of everything from his Blue Devils in their season opener Thursday evening.

              Lady Devils fall on Day 1 of Water Valley Classic

              WATER VALLEY — Up against a bigger, more mature Charleston team, Water Valley girl’s basketball coach Jason Purdy knew his youthful squad had its work cut out for it.
              Purdy was right.

                  Water Valley splits hoops doubleheader with Coffeeville

                  The eighth-grade Blue Devils won their third straight game after an 0-2 start by defeating the Coffeeville Pirates 21-14 Monday night. The seventh-graders lost 30-28 to fall to 4-1 on the year. Jack Pritchard led the eighth-grade Blue Devils with 11 points, while Quez Towns scored six points. Tyrese McGuirt had 11 points to lead the seventh-grade. Jayvon Morgan added eight points. Both teams will return to action Monday. (November 27, 2012, Page 7)
