      Devils want to regroup after first loss

      Water Valley’s unblemished run through the first half of the season came to an end last week with a 42-10 loss at Charleston.           WVHS downs Tigers, moves to 6-0

          WINONA — Water Valley coach Brad Embry admitted he was concerned about his team playing two games in five days.
          Behind a 274-yard rushing attack and a gritty defensive performance from the Blue Devils, those concerns were put to rest with a 42-10 win against Winona at Tiger Field on Friday night. (September 30, 2013, Page 3B)

              Blue Devils run around, through CCHS Wildcats

              WATER VALLEY — Calhoun City held a 6-0 lead over Water Valley late in the first half. It looked like the Blue Devils were going to have their first scare of the young season. Then senior quarterback E.J. Bounds and the rest of Water Valley offense woke up, scoring 42 unanswered points for a blowout 42-6 victory over the Wildcats. (September 9, 2013, Page 2B)
