Charleston’s Wilson, O’Bannon silence Blue Devils

WATER VALLEY — Friday was a rare quiet night for the Water Valley Blue Devils.

Charleston Tigers are as fast as advertised

Certain teams have reputations that never seem to change despite different coaches or player personnel.

Take for instance South Panola. Despite what’s considered a down year for the squad from Batesville, the Tigers are still a team that has size, power and will run the ball down opponents’ throat. (more…) (September 15, 2011, Page 6)

BLOG: WATER VALLEY — For the second year in a row the Water Valley-Calhoun City showdown proved to be a memorable game.

Blue Devils looking for redemption vs. Wildcats

There are two games on Water Valley’s football schedule that could be circled and labeled as redemption games.

This Friday’s game against Calhoun City is one of those.

A year ago the Wildcats were able to connect on a long touchdown pass down the Water Valley sideline. It proved to be the difference in the 10-7 win for the Wildcats.

Water Valley defensive coordinator Richard Russo said the Blue Devils have made sure to talk about last year’s showdown. (September 1, 2011, Page 6)
