No. 1 seed OMS Chargers defeat South Panola
Led by the pitching of right-hander Houston Roth and an abundance of offense the Oxford Middle School Chargers rolled past the South Panola Tigers 11-2 on Thursday at Edwin Moak Field.

Blue Devils fall to S. Pontotoc
A late rally wasn’t enough to lift the Water Valley Blue Devils to a win over South Pontotoc on Tuesday night. WVHS fell 8-7 despite three hits each from Taylor King, John Michael Grimmett and J.D. Fondon. One of King’s hits was his eighth home run. Water Valley will be back in action Friday at Mooreville. (April 13, 2011, Page 10)
Playoffs begin for middle school baseball teams

Blue Devils pound their way to win
An opportunity to defend their Class 3A North Half title is what the Water Valley Blue Devils earned on Friday with their 13-2 win over South Pontotoc at Blue Devil Field. Paced by an offense that collected three home runs and 11 hits total in five innings, WVHS secured a spot in the upcoming 3A playoffs with the one-sided win over the Cougars. Blue Devils’ offense, errors doom Chargers
Errors ended up preventing the Oxford Chargers from earning a clean sweep in a baseball twinbill at W.V. Brewer Field on Saturday afternoon. LHS takes down Devils
Lafayette coach Greg Lewis knew his Commodores didn’t play their best against Oxford to start Saturday’s baseball fest at W.V. Brewer Field. Instead of changing the lineup drastically against Water Valley on Saturday night, Lewis decided to let his team work itself back into normal form.
The end result was a much better approach at the plate in a 15-5 win over the Blue Devils in five innings. (April 4, 2011, Page 7A)
Blue Devils fall to Winona
Winona was able to defeat Water Valley for the first time in division play Friday with a 5-4 win in eight innings over the Blue Devils baseball team.
Drew Pratt was saddled with the loss. Walt McCullough led the Blue Devils at the plate with a home run, double and a single. Cole Camp had two singles, while Adam Langham had a double.
