Rosa Fort Lions too quick for LHS
A fast start to Friday’s home game for the Lafayette Commodores was negated by the quickness of the Tunica-Rosa Fort Lions. Lafayette led 9-2 in the early moments of the Division 2-4A contest but after a surge from the Lions later in the first quarter, the Commodores were never able to catch up. The end result was a 70-48 win for the Lions, who improved to 4-0 in 2-4A play and sent the Commodores to 8-6 overall and 1-3 in 2-4A.
Lafayette blasts Lions on Homecoming
Lafayette’s Homecoming court wasn’t the only thing that shined Friday evening.

A week after throttling Lewisburg at home in the Region 2-4A opener, the Lafayette Commodores hit the road this week for their first region road game of the year.

Lady ‘Dores rally past Tunica-Rosa Fort
The Lady Commodores basketball squad came into Tuesday’s home showdown with Division 2-4A opponent Tunica-Rosa Fort out of sync and it showed up on the scoreboard early.
Empty possessions and the inability to rebound or cover the Lady Lions’ 3-point attack proved to be detrimental early in the game, but as the game progressed, Lafayette was able to adapt enough to pull out a 58-51 victory in overtime over Rosa Fort.

Commodores clobber Lions
Friday’s doubleheader against Tunica-Rosa Fort proved to be a good transition series for the Lafayette Commodores baseball team.
Playing their first games without three starters who were dismissed from the team earlier in the week, the Commodores defeated the Lions 20-0 and 15-0 in two mercy-ruled games at W.V. Brewer Field. (April 19, 2010, Page 4B)
