Ole Miss Jazz invades Bluegrass state

OXFORD TOWN – Under the direction of Michael Worthy, the University of Mississippi’s jazz ensemble, The Mississippians, will perform for its first-ever national conference Jan. 6 at the Jazz Education Network Conference in Louisville, Ky.     The Mississippians reload at the Ole Miss band hall tonight

    OXFORD TOWN – Oxford and Ole Miss are in for a rare treat tonight (Thursday, Nov. 3) as the Mississippians take the UM Band Hall stage at 8. The performance is a warm-up for the band’s participation in The Jazz Education Network Conference to be held in Louisville, Ky., beginning Jan. 4, 2012, where they are scheduled to perform a 50 minute set. Page 5 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town has information about the group and what to expect at tonight’s show.
