Community film director Matthew Graves interviewed

OXFORD TOWN – Last year, the Oxford Film Festival premiered Oxford’s first community film and it was a huge success — arguably, the most popular film of the entire festival. This year, Director Matt Graves continues the tradition by bringing the new community film, “The Show Must Go On,” to the forefront this weekend.     Movie set to film in Oxford

    The Oxford Convention and Visitor’s Bureau gave a $5,000 film grant Wednesday night at the request of screen writer Glenn German for an upcoming film, “Admissions,” that will be partly filmed at the University of Mississippi and Oxford, with actor Andy Garcia expected in the lead male role. (January 19, 2012, Page 1)

      Thacker Mountain converges on Lyric Theater tonight

      OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio will perform a special fundraising show on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Lyric Theater on the Oxford Square. Musician Jimbo Mathus (pictured here) will lead the Thacker Mountain house band, the Yalobushwhackers, and welcome a wide array of Oxford area talent including Silas Reed IV, Bill “Howlin Madd” Perry, Effie Burt, Jake Fussell, Jamie and Rosamond Posey, Casey Lipe, authors Jack Pendarvis and Theresa Starkey, Square Books owner Richard Howorth and TMR host Jim Dees.         Cary Hudson teams with Yalobushwhackers on TMR

        OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio welcomes two local heroes to Off Square Books this evening (Thursday, Nov. 10) at 6 — Cary Hudson and Dent May. Author N.M.           Thacker Mountain Radio hits the road … sort of

          OXFORD TOWN – In a fundraising effort for its 2012 season, Thacker Mountain Radio organizers have planned an outdoor version of the broadcast this week (Thursday, Oct. 27) on the courthouse lawn featuring poet Kevin Young, musician/singer/songwriter Eleanor Friedberger (pictured here), author Randy Fertel, musicians James Justin (Burke) and Co., and saxophonist Eric Lipe.             Shannon McNally anchors The Yalobushwhackers tonight on TMR

            OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio returns to Off Square Books tonight (Oct. 6) at 6 to welcome Oxford’s newest writer (Josh Weil) as well as two young bands, one playing tunes from the past (The Side Street Steppers), the other, playing music from the now (Dead Gaze).               Thacker Mountain Radio opens 2011-2012 season tonight

              OXFORD TOWN – Oxford’s favorite weekly gathering, Thacker Mountain Radio, is set to raise the curtain on its 2011-2012 season this Thursday evening (Sept. 1) at 6 at Off Square Books.                   The Blind Pig to host Thacker Mountain Radio benefit

                    Thacker Mountain Radio collaborates with University Museum

                    OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio will broadcast from the Lyric Theatre this Thursday from 6-7 p.m. Following the broadcast, a documentary film will be screened depicting the unique history of the Gee’s Bend Quilters and the singers from Alabama.
