Horned Frogs eliminate Rebels from postseason play

BLOG: Welp, this is it. Win, and the Rebels will be headed to UCLA for the Los Angeles Super Regional. Lose to TCU and Ole Miss will be headed home to Oxford.

First pitch for tonight’s must-win game is sets or 6:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

      Rebels headed to Lone Star State

      When the Ole Miss Rebels left Hoover, Ala., last week after a 1-2 showing in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, the coaches and players — at least publicly —believed their resume was strong enough to get them into the NCAA Tournament.

      Monday, their instincts were re-affirmed when Ole Miss saw its name appear on the Road to Omaha announcement show as a three-seed in the College Station (Texas) Regional. (May 29, 2012, Page 8)

          In-demand Rangers: NWCC trio receiving attention

          Some of the best recruits in the junior college ranks reside just 45 miles away from Oxford at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia.

          Sophomore offensive left tackle Donald Hawkins, wide receiver Lance Ray and quarterback Ryan Mossakowski are just three reasons why the Rangers went 6-3 overall this year and were ranked in the top 5 nationally at one point this season.             Boone laughs off rumors at Rotary Club meeting

            If the pressure surrounding the start of the Ole Miss football team this year was wearing on athletics director Pete Boone, he didn’t show it during his guest speaking engagement at the Rotary Club of Oxford on Tuesday afternoon. Boone was the featured speaker at the weekly lunch meeting held at the Oxford-University Club and his presentation to the members was well organized, informative and accomplished in a very positive manner.               SEC announces addition of Aggies

              BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors, acting unanimously, announced Sunday that Texas A&M University will join the Southeastern Conference effective July 1, 2012, with competition to begin in all sports for the 2012-13 academic year.
