UT not volunteering Rebels an easy win
Ole Miss’ drive to make a bowl game after its subpar start to the year continues Saturday with a road trip to Knoxville, Tenn., to play the unranked Tennessee Volunteers.
The Rebels (4-5 overall, 1-4 in the Southeastern Conference) started November strong with a much needed 43-21 win over Louisiana-Lafayette last Saturday and the players are looking to build on that success against a Tennessee team that is just 3-6 and 0-5 in the league. (November 12, 2010, Page 6A)
UT matchup special to Shackelford
When Ole Miss and Tennessee face off on Saturday at Neyland Stadium, it won’t be exactly how D.T. Shackelford would have imagined it over three years ago: Instead of running on to the field in Knoxville, Tenn., wearing the home orange and white, Shackelford will be jogging out of the visitor’s locker room.
Born a Tennessee fan — for what he admits is an unknown reason — in the state of Alabama, Shackelford dreamed of playing for former Vols coach Phil Fulmer. (November 10, 2010, Page 8)

Dooley re-connects with Volunteer fans
It may be a while before Derek Dooley can revive the Tennessee Volunteers into a championship contender, but he is trying and doing everything he can to make it happen sooner rather than later.
Dooley was hired from Louisiana Tech in January to clean up the mess left by former coach Lane Kiffin. The Volunteers may have gone 7-6 overall last year, but the way Kiffin departed, and the amount of damage he did to the program’s reputation in recruiting with the NCAA, left many feeling like the Volunteers were a sub .500 team. Mental errors doom Rebels on Sunday
It’s beginning to sound like a broken record, mainly because it is.
For the fifth-straight week the No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels were unable to close out a weekend baseball series on a high note, losing to the Tennessee Volunteers 10-6 at Oxford University Stadium on Sunday. (April 5, 2010, Page 6A)
Tennessee earns first SEC win, beats OM 5-2

Rebels top Tennessee 7-3
Even on a night when Ole Miss All-American Drew Pomeranz didn’t have his A-game, the No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels were still able to find a way to win, defeating the Tennessee Volunteers 7-3 Friday at Oxford-University Stadium. (more…) (April 2, 2010)
