Sheriff’s deputy lives his dream each day


The Lafayette County Law Enforcement Officers Association held its annual banquet Thursday night at the National Guard Armory where they celebrated and honored the Office of the Year awarded to Deputy Dave Cullison, Support Personnel of the Year Robert Sockwell and gave a special Medal of Valor award to five University Police officers, Lt. Anthony Hernandez, Gage Vance, Will Anderson, Jay Plunk and Matt Defore. (January 18, 2013, Page 1A)

    Roberts named Officer of the Year

    Capt. Darren Roberts, with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department received the Officer of the Year award Tuesday night during the annual Lafayette County Law Enforcement Officers Association’s awards dinner. Linda Sockwell, parking enforcer with the Oxford Police Department won the Support Personnel of the Year award. (February 9, 2012, Page 1)

      UPD’s Tutor receives Officer of the Year award

      University Police Department’s Jane Tutor took home the award for Officer of the Year last night during the annual awards banquet of the Lafayette County Law Enforcement Officer’s Association. Tutor, captain of investigations, has been with UPD since 2003. Winning the award for Support Personnel of the Year was Angie Hughes, a 911 dispatcher with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years.
