    Paid parking to be discussed Tuesday

    Paid parking is on Tuesday night’s agenda for the Oxford Board of Aldermen where a public hearing will be held prior to the aldermen’s discussion and vote on hiring a parking director and getting bids for equipment.

      Three-hour parking now in effect

      Shoppers will now have an extra hour to park in premium parking spots around the Square as the city’s new three-hour parking limit went into effect Monday. (June 4, 2013, Page 1)

        Square parking to go to 3 hours

        Parking around the Square will change from a two-hour limit to a three-hour limit in about 45 days after members of the Board of Aldermen had no objections to the recommendation by the Oxford Downtown Parking Advisory Commission to change the parking limit. (May 8, 2013, Page 1A)

          Election forum draws large crowd

              New Square parking lot OK’d

              The Courthouse Square Preservation Commission approved plans to demolish a part of a building, known as the old Belk shop, to make room for more parking in the new lot behind the Oxford University Club as well as the landscape and site plan that is expected to provide about 100 new parking spaces. (January 8, 2013, Page 1)

                Parking enforcers nab 860 violators

                In the first six weeks of beefed up parking enforcement around the Square, more than 860 tickets have been issued to over-time parkers. About 60 are repeat offenders. (January 7, 2013, Page 1A)
