City aims to protect large trees

If passed by the Oxford Board of Aldermen, changes to the city’s tree ordinance will soon include incentives for builders to retain as many large, older trees on the property. (February 26, 2014, Page 1, 2)

    Power company’s tree trimming criticized

    The Oxford Tree Board criticized the North East Mississippi Electric Power Association’s limb-cutting job on a handful of trees along South Lamar recently. NE Power says it must do what it needs to do in order to prevent fires, power-outages and unsafe conditions. (April 5, 2013, Page 1A, 12A)
