Better bids sought for silver
The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors and Oxford Board of Aldermen turned down all but one bid Monday on 42 bars of silver that were discovered this past summer in a safety deposit box. (December 6, 2011, Page 1)
Silver bars from hospital sale to be sold
During a special meeting Monday, the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors voted to declare the 40 bars of silver given to the city of Oxford and the county by Baptist Memorial Hospital officials as surplus property, allowing the silver to be sold and that money going into the county’s general fund.
