    LHS prepares to host Red Raiders

    Last week, Lafayette had a cakewalk of a game against Duval Charter, scoring almost at will in its 69-0 win at William L. Buford Stadium.

    By most accounts, Friday’s game against Shannon won’t even be in the same hemisphere as last week’s.

    The Red Raiders (2-2 overall), once a thorn in Lafayette’s side before the Commodores (3-1) became a mainstay in the Class 4A championship game, will prove to be a greater challenge. (September 13, 2012, Page 8)

      Oxford on the mark vs. Raiders

      Jamborees are typically meant for teams to see what they have and to then work out the kinks without the pressure of mistakes showing up in the win-loss column.

      Friday, the Oxford Chargers opened the Oxford-Ole Miss jamboree at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in impressive fashion with a 17-0 victory over Shannon. (August 13, 2012, Page 7)

        Liggins, Dennis pace Commodores in rout of Shannon

        SHANNON — The fast start Lafayette Commodores coach Anthony Hart had been looking for from his football team finally came Friday night in Shannon.
