Oxford rallies to top Senatobia

It wasn’t pretty, but the Lady Chargers volleyball team rallied from an early deficit to defeat Senatobia 3-2 (18-25, 24-26, 25-10, 25-19, 15-12) on Tuesday.

Emily Mims had a team-high 12 kills, while Anna Katherine Kessinger and Sara Mims each contributed 11 kills to the cause.  Setter Jessica Pearson also led OHS with 40 assists. OHS holds on to top Lady Warriors

A hard-fought, five-game match with Senatobia may not have been the most ideal way for the Oxford Lady Chargers to start their home schedule, but for coach Tara Ross, a win as the end result was all that really mattered.

Oxford overcame a sluggish start to defeat the Lady Warriors  3-2 (22-25, 25-19, 25-13, 19-25, 15-11) and earn their first win in the OHS gym in the process. Ross was able to work on some new rotations during the contest in the attempt to gain consistency moving forward while also inserting some other players that haven’t seen as much time into the match. (August 17, 2011, Page 7)

      Oxford earns sweep of Senatobia

Oxford fans at the OHS gym on Tuesday saw two very different games from the Chargers and Lady Chargers against Senatobia.

While both squads won, it was the boys that claimed a run-away 74-57 victory, while the girls had to hold on and knock down free throws at the end to claim a 48-41 win. (November 17, 2010, Page 6)

          No chance: Robison no-hits SHS

Stormy Robison has accomplished a lot during her high school career, so maybe that’s why the Lafayette senior acted like it was old hat when she not only helped her squad beat the Senatobia Lady Warriors 10-0 in six innings on Thursday, but also pitched a no-hitter in the process. (April 2, 2010, Page 6A)
