Oxford will finally have its say in the on-going debate regarding Sunday alcohol sales. The newly formed Oxford Alcohol Committee wants more feedback from the public and is giving the public two weeks to respond to an online survey. AROUND THE SQUARE AND BEYOND: Thursday was a very, very busy day in the world of college football and the Pac-10 conference. Not only did the conference’s top football program, USC, get hit with NCAA sanctions not seen since the early 1990s, but the league expanding by one with the addition of Colorado.
It’s obvious that having USC lose 30 scholarships over the next three years and miss two years of bowl games is not a good thing for the Pac-10, but the blow of seeing the conference’s best football program hurt for the next three years was softened with the arrival of the Buffaloes, who became the first team to enter the league since 1978.
