McDaniel supporter says cost to view rolls unfair

The Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office issued a press release Monday addressing recent questions, blogs and social media posts accusing several Mississippi counties, including Lafayette County, of denying supporters of Sen. Chris McDaniel access to voter rolls from last week’s Republican runoff. (July 1, 2014, Page 3)

    Cochran wins runoff

    Six-term Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran beat challenger Chris McDaniel for the win in a tight Republican runoff race earning 50.9 percent of the votes.

    In Lafayette County, voters continued to back Cochran giving him about 67 percent of the votes. (June 24, 2014, Page 1, 14)

      Likely runoff could be something positive

      Perhaps we all owe Thomas Carey a “vote” of gratitude. It was Carey who apparently received just enough votes to force Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel into a two-man runoff for the GOP Senate nomination.
