USM change gives Rebs in with Pearl WR
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Coaching changes obviously have a large impact on the recruiting world and one in-state change could pay off for the Rebels in their pursuit of 6-foot-3 Pearl receiver D.J. Thompson.

When the Long Beach linebacker showed out at the Rebels’ elite prospect camp in June he was looking for an Ole Miss offer. In-demand Rangers: NWCC trio receiving attention
Some of the best recruits in the junior college ranks reside just 45 miles away from Oxford at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia.
Sophomore offensive left tackle Donald Hawkins, wide receiver Lance Ray and quarterback Ryan Mossakowski are just three reasons why the Rangers went 6-3 overall this year and were ranked in the top 5 nationally at one point this season. Mackey, Scott suspended for game with No. 1 LSU
Houston Nutt can’t catch a break.
Following Tuesday’s practice, the outgoing Ole Miss football coach confirmed that junior quarterback Randall Mackey, sophomore running back Jeff Scott and sophomore receiver Korvic Neat have been suspended for the LSU game on Saturday for violating team rules.
Nutt said there’s also a chance the trio could miss the Egg Bowl at Mississippi State next weekend. (November 16, 2011, Page 6)
Dennis runs No. 1 Lafayette into next round
Lafayette senior running back Demarkous Dennis said he has been eating a little less at meals than normal now that the MHSAA’s Class 4A playoffs have started. His efforts to remain sleek and fast were definitely noticeable on the field Friday night as Dennis rushed for 303 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries in the Commodores’ 53-8 thrashing of Greenwood at William L.
