Ole Miss hosting top hoops prospect
The voice recording on Ky Madden’s cell phone emphasized why he is one of the most highly recruited prep basketball players in the nation this year. With a bevy of college coaches and reporters always calling, the 6-foot-5 Madden’s phone message system has hit an overload with requests for his time.
Such is the life for the Lepanto, Ark., point guard standout who will make his official visit to Ole Miss this weekend. Madden is rated as the 16th-best point guard in the nation by ESPN and ranked in the top 20 by recruiting services Rivals.com and Scout.com. As far as overall prospects in the nation, Madden is a consensus Top 100 player due to his outstanding athletic ability, ball skills and intense desire to win. (September 24, 2010, Page 7A)

Brassell in no rush to make college choice

Nickalos Brassell, the speedy cornerback/receiver from South Panola, is in no rush to decide his future and said last week that he plans on going through the whole recruiting process and does not plan on committing to a college until his senior season is over. (July 28, 2010, Page 8)
