Board reviews some preservation laws

The Courthouse Square Preservatoni Commission met Wednesday for a work session to discuss possible changes to preservation ordinances that, if passed by the Oxford Board of Aldermen, would give the city the ability to make minimal repairs to a home in historic districts and put a lien on the property. (August 30, 2012, Page 1, 2)

    City could repair a home, then bill owner

    The Oxford Historic Preservation Commission is hoping to make several changes to the city’s demolition ordinances, including one that would allow the city to make Band-Aid-like repairs to a private home and then charge the owner of the property for the cost of repairs. (July 11, 2012, Page 1)
