Ten Out of Tenn collaborate at Proud Larry’s

OXFORD TOWN – Want to get a song stuck in your head … indefinitely? Want to watch the ultimate game of Twister transpire on stage? That’s what you’ll get if you attend the Ten Out of Tenn concert at Proud Larry’s on Monday, Sept. 26.     Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit

    OXFORD TOWN – Former Drive-By Trucker singer/songwriter/guitarist Jason Isbell and his band, The 400 Unit, are set for a show at Proud Larry’s this Saturday night (Sept. 24) as the band tours in support of its latest album, “Here We Rest.” Page 9 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town has an in-depth interview with Isbell from Oxford Town’s newest contributor, Alan Sculley. (September 22, 2011, Page 9)

      New Orleans’ Rotary Downs to play Proud Larry’s

      OXFORD TOWN – The New Orleans “psychedelic pop band,” Rotary Downs will play Proud Larry’s this Friday night (Sept. 16). The band (pictured here) consists of members James Marler (lead vocals/guitar), Chris Colombo (lead guitar), Jason Rhein (bass/vocals), Zack Smith (drums) and Michael Girardot (keys/trumpet). Get set for the New Orleans noisy, fuzzy psychedelic pop band with Tyler Keith and The Apostles splitting the bill.         Blue Mountain returns to Proud Larry’s

          Dex Romweber Duo to perform at Proud Larry’s in support of new album

          OXFORD TOWN – Brother-sister Americana musicians, Dex and Sara Romweber (Romweber Duo), is touring in support of their new album “For Is That You In The Blue?” and they’re headed to Oxford. Catch the popular rockers for a one-night performance at Proud Larry’s next Tuesday (August 26) as they unveil their latest effort for the first time.             2nd Annual Oxford Blues Festival launches Friday, July 21

            OXFORD TOWN – The blues will heat up Oxford this weekend, featuring 25 acts from four states as the 2nd Annual Oxford Blues Festival launches at venues all over town beginning Friday, July 22. Performers for the festival include Eddie C. Campbell (pictured here), Effie Burt, Matt Gaylord of The AM Band, Jay Lang & The Devil’s Due and Andrew Hancock of The Hancock Co.               Rocket 88 to get ‘happy’ at Proud Larry’s

              OXFORD TOWN – Even though the gigs are a couple of weeks away, Oxford Town deems Rocket 88 cover-worthy (but maybe just a little too early for print) for its upcoming Happy Hour shows on the Oxford Square. Arguably Oxford’s favorite Americana, rock, blues, country gospel (you-name-it) band, Jamie and Rosamond Posey and Rocket 88 are set for two Happy Hour shows at Proud Larry’s — Thursday, July 21 and Thursday, July 28 — and here’s an additional OT cover designed to pump it up.                 Get Revived! The Oxford Rhythm Revival returns this weekend

                OXFORD TOWN – Gear up for one of the coolest “revivals” in the region as the 2011 version of the Oxford Rhythm Revival cranks up around the Oxford Square this Saturday (June 18). Mississippi native Lynn Drury, Memphis legend rocker Keith Sykes, Shannon McNally, fiddle prodigy Ruby Jane (pictured), Gina Sexton, Marlena Jarjoura and Taylor Hildebrand are just of few of the names that will keep Oxford jumping this Saturday night. The fun begins on Saturday morning on the Courthouse lawn and continues until the last note is played at Proud Larry’s, Rooster’s Blues House and Soulshine Pizza at midnight.                     Andy Friedman rocks Proud Larry’s tonight

                    OXFORD TOWN – New York rocker Andy Friedman will play at Proud Larry’s tonight (Thursday, May 12) at 8 p.m. Caleb Stine is scheduled to open the show with Cary Hudson taking the stage after Friedman.
