Rebels take part in annual Pro Day

Sweat never felt better to several former Ole Miss players who are desperately trying to make an impression with NFL scouts. A total of 20 Rebels, recently through with their senior season or just a year removed, worked out for scouts representing 15 NFL teams Thursday in the Indoor Practice Facility.     Rebels try to impress scouts at OM Pro Day

    Just because they may be done suiting up in red and blue doesn’t necessarily mean several Ole Miss football players need to hang up their spikes.

    Friday at the Indoor Practice Facility 12 Rebels ran, jumped, and lifted for 20 National Football League scouts in an attempt to either improve their draft stock, or, in the cases of some of the lesser-known prospects, catch the attention of a team. (more…) (March 12, 2012, Page 2B)

        McCluster making the most of his break away from pro football

        COLUMN: The NFL’s recent decision to lockout players on all 32 teams has given those individuals a chance to catch up on some loose ends.

        In the case of former Ole Miss standout running back/wide receiver Dexter McCluster, his down time has led him back to Oxford where he is currently trying to finish up his degree.

        McCluster said he only needs to finish two classes, broadcast journalism and an advanced class in English, to secure a degree that he was encouraged to finish by the Kansas City Chiefs organization. (more…) (March 23, 2011, Page 7)
