Breaking news – F3 tornado hit Oxford
Weather officials say straight-line winds caused most of the damage during the first storm to blow through the community on April 27. However, the second storm that hit later that afternoon and caused so much damage in the Pine Flat community has been classified by the National Weather Service as an F3 tornado. (May 2, 2011)
A close call for many
Pine Flat Community began recovery efforts on Thursday while most of the community remained in shock over the damages to the area. Volunteers came to help begin putting together the pieces of their lives. (April 29, 2011, Page 1A)
