    Rebels shine against No. 6 Georgia

    The No. 13 Ole Miss men’s tennis team concluded play at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic Sunday, earning five singles wins against players from No. 6 ranked Georgia.       Former OHS standout garners academic honor

      Former Oxford High tennis standout Felicity Flesher was honored recently by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for achieving All-Academic status. Flesher currently plays for Carleton College located in Northfield, Minn. Floscher was one of five members of her team to be named to the team. To be recognized as a member of the team, an individual has to have a grade point average of at least 3.5. (August 2, 2012, Page 7)

        Chargers pound Titans to win 5A North title

          Chargers blank Starkville in playoff tennis

            OHS wins big in 2-5A tournament

            Oxford’s Chargers swept through the individual Division 2-5A tennis tournament held Wednesday at the John Leslie Courts. The Chargers qualified all seven spots for next month’s MHSAA individual state tournament.

            Every match in the tournament was one-sided in the Chargers’ favor. Saltillo, New Hope and West Point were the other three teams that had individual tennis players competing in the tournament. (April 19, 2012, Page 7)

                Chargers wrap up Division 2-5A title

                Oxford’s trip to New Hope Monday produced two wins over the Trojans in tennis action. The two 7-0 wins not only improved the Chargers to 13-1 overall, but the victories also wrapped up another regular season division title for the Chargers, who finished 6-0 against West Point, Saltillo and New Hope combined.                     Oxford JV tennis beats Pontotoc

                    Oxford earned seven wins in eight junior varsity matches with Pontotoc on Monday. Callan Shinall beat Chet Wilson 6-2, 6-1 in boys singles, while Madison Cobb defeated Molly Chamblee 6-2, 6-1 in girls singles. (more…) (April 3, 2012, Page 9)
