      No stress, no drama involved in latest win

       COLUMN: RIDGELAND — There was no reason to stress or worry for the Oxford tennis team Tuesday during its match with Stone County at the Ridgeland Tennis Center.

        Oxford-Stone County tennis rescheduled for May 14

        Oxford’s bid to win a sixth straight tennis title was put on hold for the second time in three days Friday afternoon. Rain in the Metro Jackson area prevented the 19-0 Chargers from meeting up with Stone County this past Wednesday or Friday, the original re-schedule date set by the MHSAA.           Chargers capture 5A North Half title

          Oxford advanced to a sixth straight state championship in tennis by defeating Starkville 6-1 Friday afternoon. Rain forced the match to be played indoors at the Gillom Sports Center.             Chargers open 5A playoffs with win over NCHS Rockets

            Oxford’s playoff run to capture a sixth straight state championship began Monday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Neshoba Central at Avent Park. The Chargers improved to 17-0 with the win over the Rockets, who were unable to score points in four of the seven matches overall.

                Chargers cap perfect regular season

                Oxford capped off a perfect regular season on the court Monday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Lafayette at Avent Park. The Chargers, now 16-0 heading into the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs, feature a senior class that is 116-2 during their career and Monday’s match with the Commodores was Senior Day.
