Lady Trojans defeat Oxford in 5A playoffs
Oxford’s stay in the MHSAA Class 5A softball playoffs came to an end Friday with a 17-1 loss to New Hope. The Lady Chargers’ season ended with a 7-16 overall record, while the Lady Trojans improved to 26-1. Despite losing the series, OHS coach Steve Blackmon thought his team showed improvement during the season and the series with the Lady Trojans, regarded as the top team in the state, gives him an idea of what needs to be accomplished moving forward. Saltillo stalls Oxford’s title hopes
Oxford’s goal of winning the Division 2-5A softball title will have to wait until Thursday’s meeting with Saltillo.
