Neshoba Central blows past Chargers

The Oxford Chargers softball team made quick work of Pearl last weekend in the play-in round of the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs. It faced a much tougher first-round opponent in the form of the defending state champion Neshoba Central Rockets. (May 1, 2014, Page 9)

    Power, speed garner POY award for Lafayette’s Glass

    There wasn’t much Kendall Glass couldn’t do for the Lafayette softball team and coach Katie Moore on the diamond in 2013.         Lady Trojans defeat Oxford in 5A playoffs

        Oxford’s stay in the MHSAA Class 5A softball playoffs came to an end Friday with a 17-1 loss to New Hope. The Lady Chargers’ season ended with a 7-16 overall record, while the Lady Trojans improved to 26-1. Despite losing the series, OHS coach Steve Blackmon thought his team showed improvement during the season and the series with the Lady Trojans, regarded as the top team in the state, gives him an idea of what needs to be accomplished moving forward. (April 29, 2013, Page 4B)

          Lady Trojans leave no hope for OHS

                Complete effort leads LHS past Oxford

                Lafayette bounced back in a big way Thursday evening at Oxford.

                After dropping their last two division games, the Lady Commodores pieced together a near perfect effort to up-end crosstown rival Oxford 9-1 on the road.
