Audition: Oxford Shakespeare Festival

Auditions for the Oxford Shakespeare Festival’s 2010 “A Royal Season” will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. on the Ole Miss campus, Isom Hall 202/302. Sign-up in hallway beginning at 8:30 a.m. Callbacks will be 1:30 – 5 p.m. that afternoon.

The Season will present “The Merry Wives of Windsor” and “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare, and the musical “The King & I” by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Festival performances run from June 11 through July 2.

    Children’s Audition: ‘The King & I’

    Julia and Robert Aubrey will audition children from ages 8 – 13 for chorus roles in the Oxford Shakespeare Festival’s production of The King and I. Auditions will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon in Nutt Auditorium on Saturday, March 27.

    Children are asked to prepare a short song and be dressed comfortably to participate in music and theatre games. If needed, callbacks will start at 1 that afternoon.

    There are two leading roles for boys ages 10 – 14, as Louis and the Prince.  These characters sing and have spoken dialogue in the musical.
