Three teams win title sin OPC football

The 10-12 Bears, the 8-9 Ravens and the 6-7 Jaguars all won respective titles in the inagural Mayors Championship Series held Monday night at FNC Park. The series culminated action in the Oxford Park Commission youth flag football leagues.

The Jaguars defeated the Bears 21-14, the Ravens downed the Chiefs 20-6, while the Bears got by the Giants 18-14.

In games leading up to Monday’s championship, the Ravens topped the Saints 18-13, while the Chiefs defeated the Raiders 19-13 in the 8-9 league. In the two 10-12 league games, the Bears beat the Steelers 19-6, while the Giants edged the Cowboys 13-12. (November 16, 2010, Page 4B)

      Yeager lifts 8-9 Saints with 5 TDs

      Frank Yerger scored five touchdowns to help lift the Saints to a 42-6 win over the Giants in the 8-9 year-old Oxford Park Commission youth flag football league Tuesday night at FNC Park.         6-7 Steelers’ Durham explodes for 8 TDs

        Taylor Durham’s eight touchdowns paced the 6-7 year-old Steelers in a 58-6 win over the Packers in Oxford Park Commission youth flag football action Monday night at FNC Park.

        In the other 6-7 games, the Bears beat the Giants 26-14, the Jets throttled the Vikings 32-6, while the Jaguars beat the Cowboys 34-20.

        In the 8-9 league, the Jets blanked the Steelers 7-0, the Ravens downed the Cowboys 34-6, the Packers topped the Giants 21-6 while the Chiefs beat the Saints. In the 10-12 league, the Steelers beat the Chiefs 32-6, while the Cowboys topped the Jets 19-12. (November 3, 2010, Page 7)

          Tannehill makes it look easy in 6-7 Jaguars’ win

          Jack Tannehill’s three-touchdown performance paced the 6-7 year-old Jaguars in a 25-14 win over the Jets in Oxford Park Commission flag football action at FNC Park.

          In the other 6-7 games, the Steelers pounded the Vikings behind four touchdowns from Taylor Durham, the Bears downed the Packers 31-14 while the Giants edged the Chiefs 12-8. In the 8-9 league, the Ravens ripped the Bears 27-6, the Raiders blanked the Steelers 20-0, the Saints outlasted the Cowboys 40-34, while the Chiefs beat the Jets 18-0.             Koestler’s 4 TDs pace 6-7 Chiefs

            Downing Koestler’s four-touchdown effort paced the Chiefs in a 24-7 win over the Packers in an Oxford Park Commission 6-7 year-old league game Monday night at FNC Park. In the other 6-7 league games, the Bears blanked the Vikings 20-0, the Steelers shut out the Jaguars 38-0, while the Jets topped the Cowboys 21-14.

            In the 8-9 league, the Steelers blanked the Giants 18-0, the Saints edged the Bears 20-18, the Jets topped the Cowboys 7-0, while the Chiefs beat the Packers 27-18.               Roth, Koestler score three TDs to lead OPC squads to Ws

              Hays Roth and Downing Koestler each scored three touchdowns to lead their respective 6-7 year-old Oxford Park Commission youth flage football teams to wins Tuesday night at FNC Park. Roth’s Giants beat the Packers 35-14, while Koestler’s Chiefs beat the Vikings 32-14.

              In the two other 6-7 league games, the Steelers beat the Cowboys 54-13, while the Bears beat the Jaguars. In the 8-9 league, the Steelers topped the Packers 28-6, the Bears beat the Giants 20-10, the Chiefs beat the Raiders 20-14, while the Ravens topped the Saints 25-19. In two 10-12 games, the Giants blanked the Jets 7-0, while Bears defeated Chiefs 27-2. (October 20, 2010, Page 9)

                Townsend sends Jets past Steelers in OPC action

                Three touchdowns by Tylan Townsend proved to be the difference for the 6-7 Jets, as they topped the Steelers 33-27 in Oxford Park Commission football action on Monday night.

                In one of the other 6-7 games, the Bears defeated the Cowboys 46-15. The Giants-Vikings and Chiefs-Jaguars scores were not provided.

                In the 8-9 league, the Jets knocked off the Ravens 19-7, the Chiefs beat the Giants 32-12, the Raiders blanked the Cowboys 27-0 and the Steelers snuck by the Bears 12-6.

                In the 10-12 league, the Giants shut out the Chiefs 20-0 and the Bears beatthe Cowboys 19-12. The Steelers-Jets score was not reported. (October 19, 2010, Page 9)

                  Durham scores four TDs on opening night

                  Taylor Durham scored four touchdowns for the 6-7 year-old Steelers on the opening night of Oxford Park Commission youth football action, but it came in a 32-26 loss to the Bears.

                  In the other 6-7 games, the Jets pounded the Chiefs 27-6, the Packers defeated the Vikings 28-6, while the Giants topped the Cowboys 28-12. In the 8-9 league, the Giants beat the Cowboys 13-6, while the Raiders blanked the Saints 31-0.
