11-12 Giants win title with lopsided victory
The Old Taylor Antique Giants wrapped up the title in the Oxford Park Commission’s 11-12 year-old league with a 15-5 win over the Bank of Oxford Yankees at FNC Park on Tuesday. In the other 11-12 game, the Smoothie King Phillies edged the Hunter’s Hollow Braves 7-6. In the 9-year-old league, the Oxford Plastic Surgery Red Sox nipped the Holcomb Dunbar Cardinals 6-5, while the Ligon Oral Surgery Rangers beat Larson’s Big Star Phillies 19-11. In the 10-year-old league, the First National Bank Tigers edged the Rayner Eye Clinic Braves 11-10. (June 9, 2011, Page 6)
Martin’s triple leads 11-12 Red Sox to win
Xaver Martin’s three-run triple in the bottom of the fourth inning helped lift the 11-12 year-old Smith Building Supply Red Sox to a 12-11 win over the Smoothie King Phillies in Oxford Park Commission youth baseball action on Thursday night. In other games from FNC Park, the 11-12 Old Taylor Antiques Giants beat the Oxford Dental Cardinals 10-2. In the 9-year-old league, the Davis Logistics Yankees edged the Larson’s Big Star Phillies 13-12, while the Hinton & Hinton Cubs edged the Holcomb & Dunbar Cardinals 11-10. In the 13-14 league, the Braves beat the Mississippi Auto Arms Twins 9-2, while the Farese Family Dental Brewers doubled up the Oxford Eye Clinic Rangers 16-8. (June 3, 2011, Page 6A)
U-9 Phillies rally to top Cubs 10-9
Down 9-2 heading into the bottom of the third inning, the Larson’s Big Star Phillies scored eight runs to post a 10-9 win over the Hinton & Hinton Cubs in the 9-year-old league game on Thursday at FNC Park. In the other 9-year-old league game, the Holcomb & Dunbar Attorneys topped the Ligon Oral Surgery Rangers 12-7.
In the lone 11-12 game, the Smith Building Supply Red Sox blanked the Oxford Dental Cardinals 5-0.

Aundrel Turner collected three hits and three RBIs to help lead the 13-14 year-old Farese Family Dental Brewers to an 18-3 win over the Oxford Eye Clinic Rangers in Oxford Park Commission youth league baseball on Monday night. U-9 Giants hold on to defeat Yankees
Thanks to three runs in the bottom of the fourth, the Under-9 Gilliland Orthodontics Giants were able to sneak past the Davis Logistics Yankees 12-11 during Thursday’s Oxford Park Commission baseball action at FNC Park.
In the lone 11-12 league game the Old Taylor Antiques Giants held on the top the Bank of Oxford Yankees 9-6, and in the 13-14 league the Farese Family Dental Brewers cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Braves. (May 20, 2011, Page 7A)
