OMS earns sweep of Water Valley on Thursday
The Oxford Middle School girls and boys basketball teams earned two wins on Thursday in the OHS gym. The seventh-grade Chargers beat Water Valley 22-5 and the eighth-grade Chargers topped the Blue Devils 30-11.

OMS teams fall to Senatobia
Both Oxford’s middle school football teams ended their respective seasons with losses to Senatobia Tuesday night. The seventh-grade Chargers lost 16-14, while the eighth-graders fell 14-8 in the nightcap.
Oxford’s seventh-grade defeated Senatobia 26-6 in the first meeting between the two schools, but was unable to pull out the win on the road after a game-tying two-point play fell incomplete. (October 20, 2010, Page 8)
Lafayette 8th graders remain unbeaten
Lafayette’s eighth-grade football team remained perfect on the season Tuesday night with its second win over Oxford, while the seventh-grade Chargers used early miscues by the Commodores to help post a 22-8 win at William L. Buford Stadium.

McGhee scores twice, lifts Oxford 8th-graders past Grenada
After trading touchdowns early, the Oxford’s eighth-grade football team was able to string together 13-straight points to defeat Grenada 22-8 on the road.

Oxford Middle School teams tie South Panola Tigers
There was plenty of excitement Tuesday night for Oxford’s seventh- and eighth-grade football teams as the two teams tied South Panola in action at Bobby Holcomb Field.

Oxford Middle School falls to South Panola
Oxford’s two middle school football teams lost two close game to South Panola Tuesday. The seventh-grade lost 12-8 after leading a sizable portion of the game, while the eighth-grade fell 8-0 in the nightcap.
South Panola scored the game-winning touchdown with two minutes remaining in the contest. The Tigers first TD of the game was scored with a minute left in the first quarter. Oxford’s first offensive drive of the game was thwarted, while the Tigers’ second drive ended courtesy of an interception by Kylin Jones. (September 8, 2010, Page 9)
Oxford, Lafayette split rivalry games
Rivalry week between the Lafayette and Oxford school districts continued Tuesday night with middle school football action at Bobby Holcomb Field.
