OMS Chargers fall in final 2013 meet

The Oxford Middle School boys track team competed in a rare Saturday meet at Aberdeen and saw its almost five-year winning streak on the track come to an end.

Columbus was the school that prevented the Chargers from finishing off another year with an unblemished record, earning a 138-135 victory. Some of the events the Chargers usually compete in, such as the 4×400 meter relay and the 300 hurdles, were not available to score points in. Still, OMS coach Mike Hardwick said the ultimate goal was the field two teams so that everyone got to run before the season concluded.
