Once things got rolling on offense for the Lafayette Lady Commodores on the softball field Tuesday night, they didn’t stop until the game was completely in their favor. OHS heads into Saturday afternoon’s MHSAA Class 5A state title game with South Jones with a 32-0 record. No other basketball team has finished the season with a perfect mark and a state championship all at the same time.

JACKSON — Defensive adjustments have been a big key to success for the Oxford Lady Chargers this season on the basketball court. Tuesday afternoon, in the team’s biggest game of the season, it was a defensive adjustment made at halftime that ended up advancing the Lady Chargers to the MHSAA’s Class 5A state championship game on Saturday.
