      Lady Chargers, Chargers top Charleston

      A strong desire to win helped propel the Oxford Lady Chargers basketball team to a 70-61 win over Charleston on Tuesday night in the OHS gym, while the Chargers recovered from a disappointing loss over the weekend to Tupelo by knocking off the Tigers in the nightcap 71-51. (December 8, 2010, Page 8)

        Oxford splits with Tupelo

        The Oxford Chargers lost 82-50 to Tupelo over the weekend despite 16 points from Justin Fondren. Luke Gibbs scored eight points for the Chargers (6-3), who trailed 35-21 at the half. Dee Ewing led 7-2 Tupelo with 17 points, while Rashaun Coleman added 16. Oxford’s girls remained perfect on the season with a win over the Lady Golden Wave. Both varsity teams will be back in action Tuesday at home against Charleston. Action begins with a ninth-grade boys game at 5 p.m. (December 6, 2010, Page 2B)

          OMS boys sweep Pontotoc

            OHS girls remain perfect

              Oxford makes clean sweep of Pontotoc

              Oxford’s ninth grade and junior varsity boys basketball teams earned wins over Pontotoc in the OHS gym Monday night.
              The ninth graders defeated the Warriors 60-53, while the JV won 50-34. (November 30, 2010, Page 9)

                Oxford sweeps Coldwater

                A balanced scoring ledger for both the Oxford Chargers and Lady Chargers basketball squads ended up leading to home wins over Coldwater Thursday night. Oxford’s boys defeated Coldwater 83-55 to improve to 5-1 on the year, while the Lady Chargers played another great team game in a 68-63 win. (November 19, 2010, Page 7A)

                  Oxford earns sweep of Senatobia

                  Oxford fans at the OHS gym on Tuesday saw two very different games from the Chargers and Lady Chargers against Senatobia.

                  While both squads won, it was the boys that claimed a run-away 74-57 victory, while the girls had to hold on and knock down free throws at the end to claim a 48-41 win. (November 17, 2010, Page 6)

                    Oxford sweeps Water Valley

                    The Oxford Middle School girls and boys basketball teams earned four wins combined over Water Valley on Tuesday night. The seventh-grade girls beat Water Valley 36-12, while the eighth-graders won 31-12.

                    Oxford’s seventh-grade boys won 28-13 and then took the nightcap. (November 17, 2010, Page 7)
