Chargers end middle school season

Oxford’s seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball teams ended the season Thursday at home against South Panola.

The seventh-grade Chargers lost 28-25 to finish 8-2 on the year, while the eighth-grade won 37-25 to finish the year 16-2. D.K. Metcalf led the seventh-grade with 12 points. (more…) (January 28, 2011, Page 8A)

    Oxford teams still working out the kinks

    Going down the home stretch of their regular season schedules, both Oxford’s boys and girls hoops squads are happy to have earned victories over Saltillo at home on Tuesday.

          Oxford splits doubleheader with West Point

          Oxford’s girls basketball team defeated West Point on Friday night to remain undefeated in District 1-5A play, while the Green Wave defeated the Oxford boys 69-60 in the nightcap.                   Oxford sweeps Saltillo

                    Oxford basketball games rescheduled

                    Oxford’s home District 1-5A games with West Point, originally scheduled for tonight, have been moved to Feb. 3. The games will be varsity only and it will be Senior Night in the OHS gym. (January 11, 2011, Page 6)
