Oxford Film Freak

Fall Film Preview

OXFORD TOWN – Welcome back students. In this week’s issue of Oxford Town, the Oxford Film Freak (Melanie Addington) tackles her annual fall film preview again this year and from the looks of it, we can expect tons of action, great remakes and one or two films that are causing an early Oscar buzz. One of the first films up (Aug. 26) is “Our Idiot Brother” starring Paul Rudd (pictured). Page 26 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town gives us a heads up about what’s headed to the Malco Studio Cinema, just outside of the Ole Miss gates. (August 18, 2011, Page 26)

Film Freak begins “Where I Begin”

OXFORD FILM FREAK – I’ve gotten a lot of questions from friends recently wondering where I have been as they hardly see me anymore, not even out at the movies. It’s true. I rarely left my house when not at work for the past two months. The reason is that I have been collaborating with filmmaker Thomas L. Phillips on a new movie to be filmed in July. (June 17, 2010, Page 14)

            Summer movie preview

The most anticipated film of the summer likely goes to “Iron Man 2″ but with the return of favorites such as “Toy Story,” “Shrek” and “Sex and the City,” this May through July could be quite the adventure for movie lovers who crave a familiar story. Although quite a few great indies are rolling out in New York and L.A. (such as “Dogtooth”), below is the blockbusters we will likely see hit the Oxford Malco.
