Everyday Hero Candace Gooch is known by many as an amazing teacher and leader to her students at Oxford Elementary. However, she also leads outside the classroom as a foster parent to children in need in Mississippi. (September 12, 2014, Page 1)

    Robinson named OSD’s top adminstrator

    Oxford Elementary School principal LaTonya Robinson was named administrator of the year for the Oxford district. Robinson will replace principal McLarty at Della Davidson next school year. (March 7, 2014, Page 1A)

            2nd-grader speaks 4 languages

            Alexandra Timofte just completed second grade at Oxford Elementary School, learning English as her fourth language while visiting America with her parents. Vlad and Aida are visiting mathematics professors at the University of Mississippi. In her short time here, Alexandra has gone on to become an excellent chess player and will now compete at the Susan Polgar Girl’s Invitational on July 25-30. (June 1, 2010, Page 6a)
